This boat is characterised by a large improvement in weight.

 

Construction

- Hull and deck made out of pre-impregnated T800H carbon ; sandwich Nomex cured at 120°C
The half of the bow region under waterline is a single skin carbon composite.
- All annexes are made out of carbon (Thierry Fagnent)
The hull shape has improved and adapted to the new displacement of 2 tonnes lower than the one of Groupe Sceta.
- The set of sails is simplified ( 4 working sails).
- Novelties : central water ballast
 
Last modifications : inclining keel with a moderate angle. The side ballast is smaller.
 
Ce bateau présente un net progrès en déplacement.
 
 
 

History :

 
- 1st at BOC 94-95, steered by Chritophe Auguin
- 1st at Vendée Globe 97, steered by Christophe Auguin
- 3rd Goldrace 97 ( New York San Francisco) in 64 days 11 hours 54 minutes (average: 8.5 knots), steered par Chritophe Auguin in crew
The monohull has been bought by B. GALLAY in order to run the Vendée-Globe 2000, under the name Voila.fr.
- 8th at the Vendée Globe 2001 steered by Bernard Gallay
- 5th at the Transat Jacues Vabre 2001 (Bernard Gallay, Kito de Pavant)

 

Modifications

During year 2000, keel is renoved by a modern model, the internal structure is modified to receive this new annex. The boat is so in keeping with the Vendée Globe rating rule.
