- Two versions:
Bi-rudders and raisable keel or
bulb keel
- Performance
and stiff
- Rudder efficiency on
the wind in order to control perfectly in
all the conditions.
- Stability and safety
in the grounding thanks to its widened base by two rudders and
the shape of "salmon with fins".(Illustration)

Notes of the architect:
|
|
We wanted to make a sure, easy to use
boat, without trouble for the family cruise.
The hull is in the continuity of the first 310
and of the Figaro solo Bénéteau, it is
similar to that of the first 31.7. |
We
worked on these hulls to have:
|
- Stability
of shape
- Stability of progress
- Balance when heeling.
|
| In other words a
boat which doesn't heel and roll much. |
The rigging is
simple, moreover the shrouds are put on the plating that
gives a more solid mast and especially much easier
foresails to sheet in because of no overlapping.
Furthermore it doesn't hang on to the rigging at the time
of the tack. All the manoeuvres return in the cockpit.
Inside everything was conceived for the family cruise. |
| A drifter version
was conceived with a very brief ballast which has a drift
of hydrodynamic profile of 240 kg. The boat presses in
the grounding on this widened ballast with two fins. |

|
Bi-rudders allows a better control as reaching as close
hauled.
With two smaller rudders, the strain decreases much, and
the safety increases.

The
Océanis Clipper 311, a comfortable boat, for the whole family...
Difficult to make better
A real owner's cabin of 2.05m of length on
1.90m, every well lit by an aft porthole. (...) Let us
recognize that it is difficult to make better on a
sailboat of less than 10 metres... Well conceived,
practical, aesthetically pleasing, the Clipper 311 knows
an incredible success since its launch. Perfectly adapted
to the program of family cruise, it benefits also from an
important asset, its price.
