To answer this demand, we used the acquired experience on the boats of mass production that we conceive (about 29000 boats which navigate), the racing one-design boats and the racing open boats (mini - transat, 50 ’ open, 60 ’ open).

The G34 is a simple boat in which the main thing of the spending is made for the safety, the sailing pleasure (the hull, the keel, the rigging).

Security was one of the essential element of our thoughts : solidity, stability (about 122°), large freeboard forward, position of the crew.

The repercussions of Group Finot experiments in the design of these various boats are:
  • sobriety and easiness for building
  • sobriety in deck fitting
  • sobriety in handling
  • sobriety in accommodations
  • use of directional carbon mast (greater stability, greater solidity, better thinness, better output)
  • fin keel laminated (centre of gravity much lower)
  • the use of water ballast ( ratio weight/power much greater)
