The first prototype of Objective 100 built into 88 will be proposed with the sale.
If she finds purchaser, the product of the sale will be transferred with the continuation of search on this type of boat.

More quickly than the wind (extracted from article published La Course au Large,October 88), diagrams and explanations to understand the principe.

The Finot Group continued this search with two other prototypes built after :
  • a prototype 8 m length, sister ship of the first one
  • a prototype 6m length.

It should be noted that, in collaboration with Lionel Péan, Objectif 100 exceeded 2 times a speed of 30 knots.
It remains much of work to achieve and especially much time of navigation to pass to progress efficiently. The whole research was financed by Rhône-Poulenc .
At the end of the program, Rhône-Poulenc yielded to the Finot Group all the hardware to continue search.

Lionel Péan
The first prototype was built by CDK in Port La Forêt,
the mast and the member by MARECHAL

the wing by the Quéré in La Rochelle
the hull is made out of Carbon sandwich T300, the mast and the member out of carbon T800 H.

Such as she is currently, the boat is especially an object of collection or decoration, it would ask too much work to allow navigation.

Launching of Group 4

The boat of Mike Golding was launched on April 28,98 in Cherbourg where she was built (JMV Shipyard).

In light weather, the boat sails for the first time with the whole tchnic crew and Bertrand Cudennec, the sailing ship in order to check the accuracy of the sails, and the standing of the mast.

Pascal: " this first evolution confirms our attentes. She is a boat pleasant to wheel andparticularly well finished.
Some little adjustments must be done and she will cross the Channel to be named in her country".

Its naming will be in Southampton on June 3, 98,
good wishes to
Group 4 from the Finot Group and its team!

THE ADBVT
Association for the Development sailing boat by Traction

In this type of search on the propulsion of a ship, a team constituted around Denis Dalmolin, Pierre Chatelain and Louis Moussy, within ADBVT.
The purpose of this search is to develop boats with sailing traction of a new style.

The Finot Group brings its assistance to this team to return the use of this style of propulsion more usable at sea, to make these boats most marine possible.
In parallel, we work on design of a hull adapted to this type of propulsion which leads to planning and types of extremely fast hulls.
The first two sails will be assembled in July on a boat based in ENV (Ecole Nationale de Voile) of Quiberon.

Progressively sailing, we will be able to solve some problems which , currently, make the use limited : stability of the sail
deployment and folding up of the sail
reduction of the sail area
stop of the propulsion
landing on a beach or in a port
